The UGA Department of Dance, within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, offers the A.B. degree with an option of teacher certification and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance. Students also may elect a Double Dawg degree, earning a master's degree in Non-Profit Management with an additional year of study. Dance Internships and Study Abroad experiences are also offered. Currently, three tenure-track, two Lecturers, and additional adjunct faculty and staff serve undergraduate dance majors, dance minors, and 600-800 other university students each year. Department supported performances include UGA Dance Company, Black History Month Celebration, Young Choreographers Series, Ballroom Performance Group, and others. Annual performances are held in the New Dance Theatre, a flexible theatre space in the Dance Building.
