Description

The American Chemical Society is looking for an Audience Marketing Manager who will be responsible for identifying new potential marketing strategies and tactics to support goals for the Industry and Early Career audience segments. They will also be responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns to meet audience goals as well as drive awareness of ACS offerings that enhance the value of membership. The position is responsible for managing digital, email, and offline campaigns, while exploring new potential channels. This role will work with subject matter experts, channel managers, and external vendors to reach the target audience with accurate and targeted messaging.

Here's what you'll be doing:



  • Serve as the industry and early career audience marketing expert
  • Collaborate across the team to develop and implement strategic marketing plans to reach awareness, membership and revenue targets.
  • Work with subject matter experts to inform copy creation and messaging
  • Build content marketing strategies to attract and nurture underrepresented audience segments, identifying ways to leverage existing society content to build interest and develop relationships
  • Write copy for social posts, email, ads, and other channels as needed
  • Use data to track and analyze the effectiveness of campaigns. Share data-driven insights and make adjustments and/or recommendations for current and future planning


Desired Skills and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, English, Communications or another related field. or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management or related work
  • Experience with project management tools; experience with the email/marketing automation platform Eloqua or similar systems, Google and/or Adobe CRM and Analytics, PowerPoint/multi-media presentation development skills
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements and report on outcomes
  • Must demonstrate a proven track record of the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible and fast-paced environment to effectively meet deadlines


This role is based in our Washington, DC office. The Communications Division employees work a hybrid schedule, consisting of working onsite two days (Tue/Wed) per work week, as decided by functional area. The balance of the week is open to working remotely, though employees are always welcome onsite each day if they choose. A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $80,000 to $108,000 per year.

Any actual offer of employment, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be made in the sole discretion of ACS. ACS reserves the right to amend or modify its employment benefits and compensation structure at any time.
