Description of Work

Thus, the Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions for Non-Tenure Track Faculty should be interpreted in the context of the related departmental and collegiate teaching goals.

Teaching - Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, and grading student work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a full-time Lecturer (non-tenure track) Faculty position in the Department of Management. This is a nine-month faculty appointment starting Spring 2025. Initial appointment is for 2 years with an opportunity for renewal.

The expected teaching load is four courses per semester (fall and spring), and may include large classes (65-100 students), and delivery methods of face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online delivery using a course management system. Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate level in the areas of Management, such as Entrepreneurship, Employment Law, Ethics, Human Resources, International Business, Leadership, Managerial Communications, Organizational Behavior, and/or Strategic Management. Evidence of teaching experience in some of these related areas is required. Please note this position does not include a research requirement.

The position additionally includes service responsibilities such as contributing to assessment of student learning outcomes, student-centered activities, and faculty governance and committee service to support the mission and priorities of the department, college, and university.

Minimum Experience/Education

UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have earned a master's degree or higher in Management or a related field. Previous teaching experience of business courses at the university level is required. Preferred candidates will have a successful record of prior professional business experience, leadership responsibilities, and prior course delivery experience in all modalities, including face-to-face at our Charlotte campuses, online synchronous and asynchronous, as well hybrid courses.
