Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $19.33 - Midpoint: $24.18 (Hourly N5)

Department/Organization: 224102 - Social Work

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Accounting Assistant III maintains accurate financial records. Provides accounting and bookkeeping support. Assists University staff in understanding industry standards, current laws, and university policy as it relates to the financial affairs of the University. Provides guidance, trains, and/or may train entry-level Accounting Assistants.

Additional Department Summary: Manages purchasing, payroll, and post contract and grant management for the School of Social Work. Supports faculty and staff purchasing, budget monitoring, reporting, and reconciliation, initiation/monitoring of all payroll and hiring related documents, and post award initiation of payroll documents and effort monitoring.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR bachelor's degree.

Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in Concur, Banner, ePrint, Everest, BuyBama, Payment Works, Contract Management, Touchnet, and Argos. Knowledge of Concur expense, purchasing and p-card policies. Knowledge of employee onboarding. Excel fluency and Word fluency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and five (5) years experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
