What You'll Do

As a Mechanic at Northside Tool Rental, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our fleet of construction equipment is always ready for our customers. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of equipment, including skid steers, excavators, generators, lifts, and small tools.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine systems to identify and solve issues.
• Ensuring all equipment meets Northside Tool Rental's high-quality standards and is rental-ready.
• Maintaining accurate records of work performed in our fleet management system.
• Assisting with equipment deliveries, pick-ups, and in-field repairs as needed.
• Supporting and mentoring team members in maintenance best practices.
• Contributing to a clean, organized, and safety-focused shop environment.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a team player with the following skills and qualifications:

• Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining construction equipment or similar machinery.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines is a plus.
• Tools: Must own basic tools required for the job; specialized tools provided.
• Education: High school diploma or GED and trade school or certifications in mechanics a plus.
• License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Attributes:
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Dependable and proactive problem-solver.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
