Schedule: 5 PM to 5 AM, 2-2-3 schedule (every other weekend)

Summary/Objective

The Supervisor plays a critical role in leading and managing the production team, ensuring smooth operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and fostering a positive work environment. With the ability to handle all tasks within their department, the Supervisor is capable of stepping in for any role, from Assistant up to Lead Technician. Responsibilities include setting up and managing an efficient crew, handling attendance occurrences, conducting employee development discussions, managing disciplinary actions, overseeing schedules and timesheets, submitting shift forecasts and production numbers, and completing Leader Standard Work sheets daily provided by the production manager.

Responsibilities

The Supervisor is expected to possess strong leadership and communication skills, effectively communicate with team members and management, and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

With the ability to step in for any role within their department, the Supervisor ensures smooth operations and maintains a high level of performance and efficiency within the production team.

Safety:



  • Understand and follow safety procedures while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all BRC, GMP, and PPE policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols.


Lead and Manage an Efficient Crew:



  • Set up and manage the production team to ensure efficient operations and productivity.
  • Place employees in appropriate roles to optimize workflow and productivity.


Handle Attendance Occurrences:



  • Monitor and manage attendance occurrences, including tardiness and absenteeism, according to company policies and procedures.


Employee Development Discussions:



  • Conduct brief sit-downs with employees to discuss their development goals and provide guidance and support as needed.


Manage Disciplinary Actions:



  • Address quality and non-quality concerns promptly and effectively, implementing disciplinary actions as necessary in accordance with company policies.


Manage Schedules and Timesheets:



  • Manage employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage and adherence to production demands.
  • Oversee timesheet submissions and approvals using the DayForce system.


Submit Shift Forecasts and Production Numbers:



  • Prepare and submit shift forecasts and production numbers at the end of each shift, providing accurate data for reporting and analysis.


Collect End of Shift Papers:



  • Collect end-of-shift papers from employees, ensuring that all tasks are completed and recorded accurately.


Complete Leader Standard Work Sheets:



  • Daily completion of Leader Standard Work sheets provided by the production manager to ensure adherence to operational standards and performance metrics.



Qualifications



  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in extrusion manufacturing.
  • Ability to work 12 hours nights following a 2-2-3 Schedule.
  • Adhere to physical requirements, including being able to lift 55lbs above your waist, move up and down several sets of stairs to perform certain tasks, and be on your feet for 12 hours.
  • Demonstrated excellence in all preceding roles within the department.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and ability to manage and optimize team performance.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to handle disciplinary actions and employee development discussions.
  • Proficiency in managing schedules, timesheets, and shift forecasts.
  • Commitment to completing Leader Standard Work sheets and ensuring adherence to operational standards.
  • Continued dedication to safety and regulatory compliance.
