PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products. As the Business Analysis & Planning Manager, you will lead a team of technical and business experts and deliver in four broad areas: (a) Healthy economic models and data, (b) Business results delivery analysis, (c) Business and Strategic Planning and (d) Business Communications associated with the performance of PEMEX Deer Park. As a member of the Business Management Leadership team, you will participate in the Pemex Deer Park Senior Management Group, and the team will work closely with colleagues in Business Management, Technology, Finance, Engineering, and Production teams with the ultimate objective of driving improved business performance in the short, medium and long terms.

 

To be successful as a Business Analysis and Planning Manager, you should have:        

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, ideally in engineering, business, economics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of refining industry experience. Extensive experience in refining, with significant technical and business role exposure.
  • Advanced expertise in hydrocarbon and refinery economics. Proficiency in hydrocarbon management, refinery economics, and supply and market dynamics.
  • Data analytics and economic modeling skills. Practical experience with data analytics, financial models, and relevant tools used in refinery operations.
  • Leadership and communication skills. Prior management experience, with strong leadership abilities and exceptional written and verbal communication skills, to simplify complex topics.

 

Your responsibilities as the Business Analysis and Planning Manager will include:

  • Own and maintain optimization models, ensuring the health of foundational data for planning and scheduling at Pemex Deer Park.
  • Lead competitive benchmarking, analyze performance metrics, and generate actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Finance and Technology teams to optimize hydrocarbon management, cash flow, and unit yield analysis to maximize margins.
  • Develop, track, and report key performance indicators and conduct look-back margin analyses to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate the development of the annual business and strategic plans, integrate market insights, and support senior leadership with strategic analyses.
  • Develop business communication strategies and materials to inform stakeholders, build business acumen, and support engagement at all levels.
