Indian River State College is looking for an Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher for its Child Development Center located on its Massey Campus in Fort Pierce. As a lead teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes learning and development. You will work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure that each child receives individualized attention and care. Our ideal candidate has a degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Special Education or a related field and at least 2 years of related work experience in the child care industry, specifically working with infants and toddlers. JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, this position implements and supervises a developmentally appropriate curriculum in all Infant/Toddler classrooms for the College's Day Care Center. Duties include assisting with licensing requirements; assessing children; leading teaching efforts in the classrooms; developing a good working relationship with parents; and ensuring various compliance requirements. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
