A full-time funded and salaried postdoctoral research fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Andres Grosmark at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Department of Neuroscience in Farmington, Connecticut.

https://facultydirectory.uchc.edu/profile?profileId=Grosmark-Andres

The Grosmark lab studies the neurobiological mechanisms of long-term memory consolidation and memory replay and how these mechanisms are affected in neurological conditions such as age-related mild cognitive impairments and Alzheimer's disease. This research integrates variety of cutting-edge methods including: two-photon calcium imaging, electrophysiology, physiologically triggered closed-loop optogenetic manipulations, memory guided behaviors in virtual reality environments, and the population-level analysis of neural representations and dynamics. Several of the questions and approaches will be building on our previous work describing the network mechanisms governing the evolution of specific memory representations in the hippocampus on short and long timescales (Grosmark & Buzsaki, Science, 2016; Grosmark, et al., Nature Neuroscience, 2021).

We are looking for candidates with experience in 1) in vivo electrophysiology, 2) the computational analysis of large datasets, and/or 3) calcium imaging. In addition, some prior background in performing behavioral experiments in rodents is required. Motivated candidates with a strong background in a subset of these methods and who are driven to learn the rest, are also strongly encouraged to apply.

The position is available immediately and applications will be considered on an ongoing basis until filled. Salary starts at $65k/year plus benefits and is negotiable depending on experience.

If you are interested in applying, please send an email with 'Postdoc candidate' in the subject line, including your cover letter and CV directly to me at grosmark@uchc.edu.
