Evanston, IllinoisAdd to Favorite Jobs Email this Job Department: WCAS Asian Amer Studies "The Program in Asian American Studies at NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY invites applications for an open-field search for a full time Assistant Professor of Asian American Studies, to begin September 1, 2025. We seek a scholar trained the humanities or social sciences but are especially interested in those trained in interdisciplinary fields including Ethnic Studies, Asian American Studies, Pacific Islands Studies, Indigenous Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and/or American Studies. This position will be housed in the Council for Race and Ethnic Studies (CRES), the umbrella unit under which the Asian American Studies Program and the Latina & Latino Studies Program sit, within the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate students in core and elective courses, advising students including majors and minors and the possibility of working with graduate students, and program building. Typical teaching load is four quarter-length courses per year. Ph.D. required by start date. This base pay range is for a nine-month academic appointment, does not include summer salary, and is subject to negotiation. Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
