    • Employing cooling system energy simulation tools to predict energy consumption and thermodynamic performance of new compressors, heat exchangers, fans, and other refrigeration and using waterfall analysis to determine energyefficiency.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for leading design, development, and simulations of sealed refrigeration systems applied to domestic refrigerators and freezers for new product development and product care activities such as cost out ideas, quality (SCR) issues, new suppliers approval and manufacturing.
  • Design, develop, and validate cooling system components and/or subassemblies relating to the sealed systems of domestic and international refrigerators, consisting of Top mount, Side by Side, Bottom Mount and Freezers.
  • Develop algorithms for refrigerators and freezer using VBA routines for Microsoft Excel, Model Based Design (MBD) with MATLAB, Simulink and Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP).
  • Perform and coordinate CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) simulation cases to develop, optimize and improve airflow solutions for new refrigerators and freezer using Star CCM+ software.
  • Integrate refrigeration system components directed by technology domain and compressors teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for the design, development, and qualification of cooling system components and/or sub-assemblies related to the sealed systems group.
  • Apply thermodynamic, heat transfer, fluid dynamics and airflow mechanics studies to develop and enhance mechanical refrigeration sealed systems and product performance improvements.
  • Interact closely with the architecture teams, technology modules teams, software team and participating in project meetings to transition a product prototype through all the development stages into product release.
  • Coordinate engineering activities with other departments using project management software including change plans, engineering changes, performance/agency testing and trial runs.
  • Use tools associated with new project development activities; Stage gate development processes, Test Plans, DFMEA, Six Sigma, Design reviews, project planning, part tracking and milestone schedule management.
  • Develop and initiate new product features and system performance. Employ cooling system energy simulation tools to predict energy consumption and thermodynamic performance of new compressors, heat exchangers, fans, and other refrigeration and using waterfall analysis to determine energy efficiency.
  • Responsible for validation studies that compare simulation product results to experimental tests and other numerical results with a particular focus on cooling system and product performance.
  • Integrate customer needs in best-in-class products through product development activities to create, design, develop, and implement new features to improve customer experience.
  • Analyze experimental test data from thermocouples and electrical components in order to guarantee thermodynamic and energy efficiency performance of domestic refrigerators and freezers, troubleshoot possible issues and elaborate test reports to present in cross-functional meetings.
  • Support the Advanced Food Preservation Team to develop and improve the Electrolux cooling system energy simulation tool. Mentor other engineers on the refrigeration systems team.
