Position Summary:

The Payroll Analyst is responsible for performing a variety of financial administrative duties. The position reports to Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, serving as the centralized point of contact. The Financial Administrator works collaboratively with multiple department leaders, Payroll and Accounting. Communicates key updates on an ongoing basis. A successful incumbent possesses a high degree of integrity and confidentially in support of sensitive UCH proprietary data.

Key Results Areas (KRAs):

  • Complete payroll administration forms and update Paylocity for employee status changes including hourly rates, promotions, terminations, provider coding, etc. Works closely with departmental directors to analyze the impact of employee new hires, pay changes, and terminations and then implement the necessary payroll system additions/adjustments.
  • Collect/ upload in Paylocity and Cactus new provider documents including Authorization to Recruit, Employment Agreement, TN License, Notice of New Provider, Offer Letter and Payroll Action Form for onboarding and payroll purposes.
  • Complete month end reporting for accounting including accruals for other pay. Prepare analysis on the various payment types and, when applicable, the sources of offsetting contract revenue
  • Run compensation expenses and time/ labor reports for end users as needed (operations, regulatory reporting, audits, etc.).
  • Work with project management to develop and maintain Smartsheet/Power Query tools (1) to track and reconcile faculty API from all sources, and (2) track all PAF activity, including call pay, incentive compensation, and all other appropriate transactions.
  • Obtain supporting documentation and prepare payroll action forms for the clinic-based departments and work with Directors of Operations for approval and final review and approval by CFO, including annual plan income changes, physician terminations and other pay requests. For hospital-based departments, proof all physician pay requests for CFO review.
  • Complete monthly journal entry for UTHSC Common Paymaster.
  • Support all levels of decision-makers and other stakeholders with financial information requests and more complex problems/issues
  • Analyze complex financial information/reports for performance, trends, and variances
  • Review and submit purchase orders via AVID.
  • Assist Directors of Operations in completion of annual budgets. Upload approved budget into Intacct general ledger system.
  • Create, assign and maintain position control roster for each department and correcting any discrepancies.
  • Ad Hoc reports and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • 5+ years in an Accounting or Finance support role in Healthcare Required
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field Preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including exceptional Excel skills.

Physical Demands & Environmental Conditions:

  • Office environment.
  • Frequent repetitious hand motion and keyboard use.
  • Ability to lift 5 pounds frequently.
