New College of Florida is searching for a tenure-track Assistant or early Associate Professor (with a maximum of 3 years of credit toward tenure) in social psychology to begin Fall 2025. Social Psychology continues to be the most popular area of psychology among students at NCF. The scholar we hire should be able and willing to teach courses and tutorials within the disciplines of Psychology and Statistics, at introductory through advanced levels. We are open to quantitative and qualitative researchers and especially invite applicants who use mixed methods approaches to investigate the complexities of human experiences. Research focus is open, but could include areas such as social cognition, group dynamics, prosocial behavior, social identity, social influence, and interpersonal relationships. New College, the nationally recognized honors college of the State University System of Florida, is an innovative liberal arts institution. Founded in 1960, the College has garnered national acclaim for its rigorous academics as students chart their own academic course with the assistance of faculty advisors and written assessments are given instead of letter grades. Conducting research is an important part of the undergraduate curriculum at New College with each student having to complete a senior thesis to graduate. Examples of Duties The teaching load is two courses per semester plus sponsoring individual and group tutorials. Faculty members also provide academic advising, supervise independent study projects, sponsor senior theses, and serve on baccalaureate committees.
