Finance Manager

SUMMARY
Provides financial management for the business unit's A/R, A/P,
Fixed Assets, Record and Document Management, and oversees all financial
planning, analysis and budgeting activities for operations. The incumbent will achieve operational
objectives; develop and maintain systems and processes; verify integrity and
accuracy of financial statements; monitor revenue and expenses; implement,
maintain and monitor accounting controls; and complies with legal requirements,
as well as develops and maintains strong intercompany relationships with
internal and external business leaders.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all aspects of general ledger balances and transactions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and inventory, monthly and year-end closings, and all financial reporting for the business unit.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness, and implement changes required for improvement.
  • Responsible for the integrity of all financial reporting and analysis for senior management, department managers, board of directors, and other stakeholders in need of financial information.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks and capitalize on opportunities. Establish and maintain an internal control structure and ensure that transactions are executed with appropriate management authorization and within regulatory requirements. Train relevant staff on control procedures as needed. Assist with audits (financial, SOX, internal, compliance, tax).Review and remediate any issues with internal controls.
  • Manage and mentor financial and operational professionals, including setting clear objectives, providing regular feedback, and conducting performance evaluations. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth. Develop and provide training programs to financial and operational staff.
  • Provide oversight of inventory control and cost management procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs. Provide support to Shared Service cost accounting department to assist with product costing, standard and overhead rate calculations, process improvement, and reporting.
  • Provide detailed reconciliations for high volume, high dollar accounts by obtaining data from a variety of sources, including collaborating with regional Shared Service Centers.Prepare and/or review all reconciliations for the business unit and verify accuracy and completeness of all financial assertions on the balance sheet where those accounts fall under operational control.
  • Assist management in preparing return on investment for various projects including additions of capital equipment, new operations or potential acquisitions. Advise on current and future investment decisions based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.
  • Communicate issues, status, and accomplishments to Business Unit President regarding areas of responsibility in a timely manner including information to assist management in decision-making.
  • Communicate proactively and with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Share knowledge and help fellow associates where needed, regardless of the responsibility. Maintain open lines of communication and work independently as well as part of a team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field required. CPA or
  • Master's degree highly preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in inventory management and supply chain dynamics within a manufacturing context.
  • Strong understanding of Cost Accounting.
