Objective

To achieve and maintain a high degree of proficiency in performing the daily Remittance Processing and Item Processing functions. Ensure deadlines are met and tasks completed within Firstrust timeline.

Responsibilities/Duties

    Perform all daily Lockbox functions for customer's activity in compliance with their specific processing requirements.
  • Complete all Bank-related Lockbox end of day functions including balancing, reporting, billing and file transmissions.
  • Process daily Return Deposit Item file from FRB including printing IRD's, perform research and post debits to customer accounts; Submit and/or receive FRB adjustments and make account adjustments, when applicable; Process and image Return Deposit Items for customers with Electronic Delivery service.
  • Review and decision exception checks in Signature Verification from various queues.
  • Identify and report any suspicious checks to the Check Operations Manager and Operations Risk department.
  • Print daily notices, statements and checks by pulling in files from FIS.
  • Assists in the development of new business for Firstrust. Is alert to expressed customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate services. Directs customers to appropriate person to establish business relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provide back-up for Mail Room duties when necessary.


Essential Functions

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee may be required to ascend/descend stairs and work atop a small ladder to store and retrieve files. The employee will need to position self to lift up to 20 pounds of materials for file maintenance. The worker sits most of the time; however, some amount of mobility is necessary to accomplish tasks. The ability to communicate and exchange information verbally and written is required. The incumbent will operate a computer terminal and phone with repetitive motion, while analyzing or preparing data. Temperature changes may occur during the workday in the office setting.



Knowledge - Skills & Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years Banking experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow procedures and handle multiple priorities independently; ability to analyze data to solve problems.
  • Intermediate skills on Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizations and time management skills
  • Detail oriented and excellent data entry skills.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally, strong interpersonal skills.
