The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for a Police Officer in the Campus Police Department. Duties include routine patrolling and securing of all campus buildings; responding to all complaints from the College community; enforcing all state and College regulations; and monitoring all social functions and sporting events. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience:Applicantsmust possess a working knowledge of the Virginia Code and be able to obtain a bond to carry a weapon. Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer through the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is preferred. . Licensure: Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer through the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Standing and sitting for extended periods of time, driving, lifting, walking and the use of both hands, bending, stooping, twisting, climbing ladders and stairs and heavy lifting.
