Job Title: Director, Customs Brokerage Sales USA
Job Location: USA, preferably East

DHL Global Forwarding is currently hiring a Business Development Director of Customs Brokerage Sales. The Business Development Director is responsible to develop and maintain new Customs Brokerage sales in the US, preferably in the East. However if a candidate fits the profile the position can be located anywhere in the US. This position is a HUNTER ROLE! Outside the box solutions for clients is critical and necessary for your success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize consultative, cross-selling, and analytical skills with a deep understanding of the US and global markets.
  • Develop new business opportunities and strengthen existing customer relationships.
  • Successfully close new business deals and consistently achieve sales goals.
  • Build and maintain a database of qualified leads through targeted efforts, commercial collaborations, referrals, networking, trade shows, etc.
  • Demonstrate technical selling skills and in-depth product knowledge.
  • Conduct market analysis for Customs Products, including competitor, customer, and market research.
  • Develop and deliver solution designs and implementations for customer requests.
  • Engage with customers in alignment with Operations, leading negotiations, and presenting to both external customers and internal DHL teams.
  • Target Customs Brokerage clients, providing strategic solution design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Country Head of Customs Product/Business Development to identify, prioritize, and secure Customs 'Stand Alone' opportunities.
  • Champion the growth of Customs business in the region and country.
  • Manage and guide the performance of the Sales Team in the region, acting as a coach for Customs-related matters within the Sales organization.

Skills / Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in customs brokerage operations and commercial activities.
  • Brokers License preferred.
  • Proven experience managing multinational and field accounts.
  • Expertise in driving and supporting large customs brokerage RFPs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on PowerPoint.
  • Extensive experience in new business development and account management.
  • Ability to cross-sell across various products.
  • Knowledge of Value Added Services such as Duty Drawback, Foreign Trade Zone, Reconciliation, and Consulting.
  • Strong contract negotiation skills.
  • Project management capabilities.
Pay Range: $102,756.09 - $137,008.00 (Based on Experience and Location)
