This position is located inGeismar, Louisiana, U.S.A., and is notavailable for remote work.

What you will do:



  • Aid in providing rotating equipment engineering support to both maintenance and operations for troubleshooting and repair efforts
  • Provide technical support in the design, specification, selection, operation, and maintenance of rotating equipment utilizing both company and industry standards
  • Support the development of capital improvement projects for budget submittal
  • Evaluate rotating equipment reliability and performance, under the guidance of a more experienced engineer, by collecting and analyzing data and other information and make recommendations to improve overall reliability
  • Support a wide variety of complex engineering assignments with appropriate direction, including investigation of problems or opportunities, preparation of design and specifications, performance measurement of projects via economic evaluations, and preparation of AFE's for submittal to the Engineering Manager
  • Gain knowledge of day-to-day operations of site rotating equipment and keep informed of operational problems and upsets
  • Prepare month-end rotating equipment reliability reports
  • Participate in and Lead root cause investigations of rotating equipment-related failures
  • Oversee both Field shop repairs of rotating equipment assemblies and components
  • Be available for on-call support of major rotating equipment issues



What you will bring:



  • Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 0-1 year experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good communication
  • Basic understanding of plant processes and operations along with the utilization of engineering knowledge
  • Co-op/Intern experience in a chemical plant, refinery, or other processing or manufacturing industry preferred
  • Successful Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • A passion for rotating equipment reliability & maintenance
