Stonington Institute is committed to providing quality substance abuse treatment options for adults in Southeastern Connecticut and surrounding areas. We offer medical detox as well as residential addictions treatment for active duty and retired military service members in our North Stonington location. Our clinic in Groton, CT, offers partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment, and is conveniently located across the street from The Inn at Trails Corner, a new 180 bed dormitory-style sober community for adult men and women who attend our outpatient day treatment programs. The Inn offers overnight accommodations, full-meal service, indoor/outdoor recreation options, a workout room, and computer center for all clients. We accept private insurance, state-funded plans and self-pay arrangements.

Job Summary:

The Group Facilitator is responsible for facilitating psycho-educational groups as scheduled in the PHP/IOP programs and developing the curriculum for same, based on program needs and Facilitator specialty. In addition, the Facilitator assists in the provision of case management services to clients in the program, as needed and appropriate.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provide client/family education, discharge planning, referral, case management, and follow-up for clients within the PHP/IOP programs.
  • Provide communication and feedback to other team members as part of joint treatment planning, UR, and client management.
  • Provide groups focused on substance abuse education and/or education in an established area of expertise (i.e., health/nutrition for Registered/Licensed Dietician).
  • Develop curriculum for and provide education components of program based in areas of specialty, client needs, and community history.
  • Act as spokesperson in relaying UR, insurance, and other administrative information to requesting sources.
  • Act as a facility liaison to client, family, aftercare agencies, institutions, or Clinicians.
  • Complete all documentation required by State and Accrediting Agencies.
  • Develop a continuing education and supervision plan with immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or one year supervised experience in group facilitation with adults required. Experience in spirituality group facilitation, Independent license or CADC/CAC preferred. Computer literate, competent in Microsoft Office programs.
