Job Description

The Apothecary Retail Pharmacy department at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital has a full-time position available for a Certified Pharmacy Technician. The individual performs various technical and support duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist including:

* Working in a team environment, which includes prescription preparation from start to finish, and has an understanding of each step in the process.

* Experience with Inventory management, including placing and receiving orders from wholesaler.

* Exhibits excellent patient-centered care and customer service skills

* Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.

* Demonstrates courteous and compassionate point-of-sale and telephone answering capabilities.

* Excellent communication skills which are extended to patients, prescribers and co-workers

* Actively seeks to perform necessary tasks and is able to move quickly from one task to another as needed

* Attention to detail, including clinical and technical documentation where applicable

* Understanding inventory management, wholesaler ordering processes, expired and recalled drug processing, and maintains a clean, organized work environment

* Have basic compounding skills, including mathematical computations

* Possibly covering shifts at other outpatient pharmacy locations in Center City Philadelphia, including the Navy Yard facility and Methodist Hospital.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, graduate of an accredited technician training program or equivalent experience.

Computer and mathematical abilities; good communication skills.
