Location: Gardena, CA
Target Hourly Range: $30 - $33 (DOE)

The Outlook Technician will be responsible for safely managing the compressed gas cylinder inventory at customer sites to optimize inventory and streamline delivery schedules from our plant to the customer and all locations within the customer's facility. The Outlook Technician will be the first line Airgas representative with the customer for all packaged gases, welding hardgoods and safety supplies related issues. The position requires full time attendance at the customer site and CDL with Hazmat.
  • Provide a superior level of customer service and support by providing prompt delivery of gases and related hardgoods and supplies
  • Proficiency with Customer's Computer System
  • Retrieve Requisitions/Purchase Orders, place orders, check inventory, update orders and PGI orders in Airgas SAP system
  • Communicate/coordinate with fill plant(s) on backorders
  • Submit all DOT Required Documentation timely to DOT Compliance Specialist
  • Engage Airgas Specialists as needed for new requirements and sales opportunities
  • Help monitor and maintain gas inventory and determine min/max levels to ensure adequate supply(s) of existing local inventories and remote locations within facility
  • Deliver gas cylinders from Plants and/or Branches to point of use
  • Receive incoming deliveries
  • Physically place cylinders into inventory
  • Perform incoming visual inspection on all cylinders
  • Confirm compliance with specifications
  • Conduct physical inventory and cylinder count audits
  • Respond to billing questions and research discrepancies in a professional timely manner
  • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable to ensure timely resolution of past due invoices
  • Maintain load manifests and shipping documents before and after deliveries
  • Inspect facility gas delivery system on periodic basis
  • Schedule and perform cylinder changes
  • Generate reports on usage by gas and department use point
  • Lead and promote safety and strictly observe safety rules of both Airgas and customer(s)
  • Ensure any injury or accident is reported immediately and investigated promptly
  • Ensure PPE is worn are all times
  • Maintain a professional and neat appearance
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures and guidelines
  • Work designated or voluntary overtime as required
  • Evaluation of gas related process problems
  • Ongoing continuous improvement activities
  • Support incoming material Quality Assurance
  • Perform Safety Audits
  • Deliveries to contractors, job sites and other customers both on and off site as directed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • College degree preferred
  • At least two (2) years of prior experience in customer service
  • Knowledge of SAP data entry preferred
  • Knowledge of CGA, NFPA and DOT
  • Class B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake Endorsements
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake Endorsements preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume setting
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook
  • Basic working knowledge of Google Suite applications
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent math skills
  • Manage multiple priorities in a timely and efficient manner and anticipate critical deadlines
