Overview Job Summary: This position is responsible for the technical operations of Carolinas Simulation Center (CSC). Under the direction of the Simulation Education Managers, this position will set-up, operate, and maintain the vast array of simulation technology (e.g., task trainers, low and high-fidelity manikins, software management systems, and audiovisual systems). This position will support simulation at the Wake Forest School of Medicine in Charlotte and various locations around the Charlotte area. The Medical Education Technologists/ Simulation Operation Specialist (SOS) role is a professional, team-centered, and collaborative position responsible for providing simulation technology expertise, training, and support to Carolinas Simulation Center teammates and collaborators. The SOS provides direct support in the creation of simulation education curriculum through different learning modalities and works in collaboration with simulation educators, faculty, and teammates to develop these offerings. Provides training and support for technology platforms utilized by the various members of the medical education community. This position requires an individual to work with a high-level of independence, have strong project management, communication and collaboration skills, a willingness to provide superior customer service, and a passion for creating and supporting innovative educational solutions for leaders, faculty, students, residents, and fellows. Essential Functions:
Education, Experience and Certifications: At least 2 years' experience in technology, healthcare, or simulation field preferred. Proficient in Microsoft office suite. Certification in healthcare simulation preferred. Physical Requirements: Works in a busy office environment. Frequent contact with various academic health professionals and students. Requires long periods of sitting, operating keyboard. Occasional lifting and walking on and off campus. Responsible to work in a safe manner. Local travel required. |
