We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Account Representative to join our contract inside sales team. In this role you will play a crucial role in managing and nurturing relationships with our contract customers by delivering outstanding customer support to address and resolve customer needs effectively. Successful candidates in this role will participate in a 5-week sales training program called Ryerson Academy, which will provide them with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel as a Sr Account Representative. This role will be based out of our Grand Rapids, MI sales office.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for contract customers, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships
- Account Growth: Identify opportunities to expand existing contracts and develop strategies to increase sales revenue within assigned accounts
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels for multiple customer-specific items, ensuring stock is sufficient for next-day delivery while maintaining days-of-supply metrics that align with company goals
- Order Management: Oversee the end-to-end process of contract fulfillment, including order placement, tracking, and ensuring timely delivery
- Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, operations, logistics, and other internal teams to ensure seamless service and address any customer concerns
- Problem Solving: Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently to ensure a positive customer experience

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales and marketing, economics, or related fields preferred
- 1-3 years proven experience in account management, inside sales, or customer service in the metals or industrial sectors preferred
- Strong understanding of contract management, inventory control, and sales processes
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Proficiency In Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Proficiency in SAP and Salesforce preferred but not required
- Excellent professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
