SD SSOM Assistant Professor - Integrative Systems and Computational Biology

The Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences (BBS) at the University of South Dakota (USD) Sanford School of Medicine (SSOM) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the field of Integrative Systems and Computational Biology. This position is part of the federally funded multi-institutional South Dakota Biomedical Computation Consortium (SDBCC).

Applicants should have a PhD or an equivalent terminal degree (MD, DVM, PharmD, or MD/PhD) in Computational Biology, Systems Biology, Bio-engineering, Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computer Sciences, or related field and at least 1-2 years of postdoctoral training.

We seek an energetic and collaborative individual that will interact with faculty within the Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences (https://www.usd.edu/Academics/Colleges-and-Schools/sanford-school-of-medicine/Divisions-and-Departments/basic-biomedical-sciences). The Division has strengths in Neuroscience, Cardiovascular Science, Protein Quality Control, Cancer Biology, and Microbiology/Immunology. Applicants should demonstrate strong potential for developing an innovative, independent, and translational research program that has or is likely to attract extramural funding.

The successful candidate will participate in the SDBCC educational and academic missions. In addition, the applicant should demonstrate a commitment to mentoring and teaching graduate and medical students. Excellent start-up funds, state-funded salary commensurate with experience and state-of-the-art facilities will be provided.
