Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Sterile Compounding Coordinator assures the safety and appropriateness of medication sterile compounding as described in the position accountabilities. The coordinator serves as the designated person, as described by USP Chapter 797, and ensures sterile compounded medications are prepared in a safe and accurate manner, facilities and equipment are in good working order, personnel are appropriately trained and current with competency requirements and all necessary records are complete and maintained to meet the requirements of Vermont BOP, the JC and other regulatory bodies with authority over the facility. The Pharmacy Sterile Compounding Coordinator may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Manager.

Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Biology Health, Biochemistry or Laboratory Sciences. Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Vermont or Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Vermont prior to hire date.

Experience:
Two years pharmacy compounding or clinical experience, or two years laboratory experience in a health system preferred.
