Senior AI Counsel

Clarivate is seeking a dynamic Senior AI Counsel to join our global Legal team! Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel leading the Strategic Transactions & Technology team, the Senior AI Counsel will be based in any North American city with a Clarivate office and will form part of a highly respected global legal team. This role will be a legal business partner and will lead the legal and governance work supporting Clarivate's ambitious artificial intelligence plans.

The Senior AI Counsel will be an expert in AI, but a generalist across legal practice areas, as they will apply their expertise in AI to product counselling, complex contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, governance, security, privacy and more.

About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments...

• Juris Doctor
• Admitted in good standing to the bar of working location
• 4+ years' experience as an attorney working in relevant practice areas.
• Independent project management and cross-functional collaboration

It would be great if you also had...

• Deep passion for, and expertise in, artificial intelligence systems, governance, and laws
• Prior in-house and law-firm experience strongly preferred

What will you be doing in this role?...

• Lead Clarivate's legal coverage across all AI initiatives
• Develop Clarivate's AI governance regime in close collaboration with product, security, privacy and sales leaders
• Review and advise upon Clarivate's AI products
• Track and respond to global AI regulations and compliance standards
• Review and negotiate complex a variety complex licensing agreements
• Help develop and maintain Clarivate's reputation as a trusted leader in AI
• Identify ongoing personal training and developmental needs as part of continuous career and professional development
• Some travel on an as needed basis

About the Team

The Strategic Transactions and Technology team provides legal support across Clarivate, including for corporate transactions, intellectual property matters, commercial contracts, AI, and more.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time, hybrid position working out of one of our Americas office locations

Ability to be flexible with working hours across regions and time zones worldwide
