Pay Range USD $19.23 - USD $23.46 /Hr. Overview The Collections and Reference Librarian will join a small team of librarians, paralibrarians, and faculty Director to help cultivate the Clarkson Library's digital and print collections, generate data-driven strategies for maximizing access to information within a budget-constrained environment, and serve as a point-of-contact for managing the reference desk. The successful candidate should demonstrate expertise in collection assessment, a willingness to liaise with the larger community, and a love for literacy. Responsibilities * Assist the Director in developing and maintaining digital and print collections. Perform data-driven assessments based on usage statistics to recommend the addition, reconfiguration, or elimination of subscriptions. Continually analyze current holdings and creatively consider alternative purchasing options/products/packages and provide this information to the Director. * Regularly review our webpage and content management systems to ensure that our displayed holdings align with our licenses and are accessible to the community. * Promote library holdings throughout the University to maximize usage. * Assist teachers/researchers/students in special projects by answering questions and supporting research when needed. * Develop and implement an information literacy resources and other educational opportunities to further informational literacy, and make them available to the University community. * Assist in managing the interlibrary loan system. * Monitor and recommend responses to trends in the collection development and electronic resource management landscape. Regularly report on such trends to the Director and offer strategies that leverage such changes to Clarkson's benefit. * Identify and pursue state, federal, and foundation-sponsored grants to bring new money into the library. * Manage the cataloguing of new acquisitions. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Master's degree from an ALA accredited library or information science program (typically, an MLS). Preferred Experience.
One to three years of experience in library operations, preferably in an academic or research institution.
