Position Description

We're looking for a full-time, staff Manager, Finance, A&E, to join the Day & Zimmermann team.

Responsible for directly supporting the Director of Business Management for Mason & Hanger with financial planning and analysis and will collaborate daily with program/project managers, accounting, contracts, procurement, pricing and other personnel. This individual will play a key role in impacting business profitability through project control leadership, project and P&L forecasting, internal and external financial reporting, period end activities, cash management and process improvement initiatives.

As the Manager, Finance, A&E, here's the work you'll do:



  • Based on project ETC data, build accurate and realistic monthly, quarterly, and annual income statement forecasts and explain all associated variances.
  • Prepare and analyze estimate at complete (ETC) data, with focus on risk mitigation. Research and resolve problems in the business that could materially impact financial results.
  • Maintain the rolling multi-year new business pipeline financial model that supports the strategic initiatives of the business. Lead monthly project review meetings.
  • Direct supervision and mentoring finance personnel including timecard approvals, performance reviews, training, disciplinary/reward actions, etc.
  • Generate and partner with Operations on the evergreen manpower plan to proactively address staffing needs. Maintain data in VantagePoint to accomplish real-time manpower demand reporting.
  • Achieve earned-not-billed (ENB) and accounts receivable (DSO) goals for Mason & Hanger. Create journal entries for revenue recognition, intra-company invoices, and cost reclassifications.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Solid understanding of program control techniques in the Federal contracting environment and finance/accounting principles including GAAP, CAS, FAR, standard financial metrics, and profitability analysis. Must include experience supporting a wide variety of contractual vehicles, with emphasis on Fixed Price and T&M contracts.
  • Ability to be efficient while supporting many competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in SAP finance/accounting modules and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills to mine large volumes of data from various sources, analyze trends, and produce summarized results.
  • Effective use of oral and written communication skills, reason, and data compilation to influence others.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $107,200 - $160,800 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
