Work schedule will be primarily weekdays during day shift. One weekend day/month is required, along with working some holidays.
Job Responsibilities: *Comprehensive assessment and management of adult inpatients with disorders of swallowing, selecting evaluation procedures that reflect an in depth understanding of the patient's diagnosis, abilities, and limitations. This includes ability to perform clinical swallowing evaluations and treatment, modified barium swallow studies (MBSS), and flexible endoscopic evaluations of swallowing (FEES). *Comprehensive assessment and management of adult inpatients with acute disorders of speech, language, and cognition. *Patient and caregiver education regarding evaluation findings and management of care recommendations *Communication of patient care and discharge needs to healthcare team members, arranging for appropriate follow-up as indicated *Completion of clear and thorough written documentation in a timely manner in accordance with facility and departmental guidelines *Serve as a clinical resource to colleagues and other medical professionals *Stay current with advances in speech-language pathology assessment/treatment techniques through attendance of professional meetings, continuing education, and reading of current literature. Education Prior independent MBS and FEES experience (conducting and interpretation) preferred. Physical Requirements
