Holton-Arms School seeks applicants for a temporary assignment or internship for the position of Communications Assistant.

Primary Responsibilities

Content creation: Writing, editing, and uploading text and multimedia content for social media, websites, and newsletter

Social Media (50%)


  • Create 5 -15 social media posts per week (depending on announcements, events, etc.)
  • Required: Proficiency with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Use Social Media Calendar to plan posts in advance
  • Check email for photos forwarded by Liz from Penny, events, etc. to be used on socials
  • Plan monthly social media meeting at the beginning of each month with Alumnae and Athletics to talk through possible collaborations each month
  • Monitor social media comments - Like comments or reply when necessary


Weekly Newsletters (40%)


  • Edit newsletter content in Google Docs before inserting the information into Axiom (Veracross)
  • Follow Holton's Style Guide for the formatting of dates, etc.


Other Office Tasks (10%)


  • Take photos of classroom guest speakers, grade activities, community gatherings/events, etc.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a temporary or internship position working on site in the Communications Office at Holton-Arms School. We expect the assignment to have a duration of three to six months. Hourly rate is $20-$25 an hour. Due to the temporary nature of the position benefits are not available for this assignment except for free parking and lunch provided on school days.
