What you'll do

As the Plant Manager for Utilimaster (A Shyft Group Brand) based at our facility in Landisville, PA, you will enjoy planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people for the facility.

In addition, your direct reports in this role will include the EHS Coordinator, EHS Manager, Quality Manager, Production Control Manager, Production Manager, Production Supervisor, Scheduler, Continuous Improvement Coordinator, and SPS Specialist.

This role requires a servant leadership work style that has built and grown a plant through the people while working with and through others.

You will also:

  • Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment at all levels
  • Spearhead measurable results while overseeing and executing all safety requirements and cautions
  • Manage accurate production reporting for labor, inventory, quality, and manufacturing costs
  • Evaluate technological developments and investigate the feasibility of new equipment and techniques
  • Provide dependable cost estimates and support financial analysis
  • Direct the deployment of common manufacturing-related core procedures
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement and learning
  • Develop the future state value stream map and manage the plans to achieve it
  • Provide end-to-end visibility by integrating operations data with customers
  • Oversee the development of systems and tools that customers with online access to status
  • Manage all new product launches and ensure that all deliverables are met
  • Partner with value stream managers to identify problems, solutions, and action plans
  • Ensure that standardized processes are followed and that countermeasures are implemented
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the plant budget and manage expenses
  • Develop and maintain a positive, can-do attitude within the plant
  • Ensure that Production Supervisors are delivering effective cross-training for employees and that they receive continuous levels of required support
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate the results of the KPIs to stakeholders
  • Continually improve processes by investigating changes in manufacturing methods
  • Stay current on activities regarding your team, promptly identify problems, and take corrective actions
  • Ensure customers receive timely commitment dates and that we consistently meet or exceed expectations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related discipline
  • Eight or more (8+) years of experience managing teams within a fast-paced and complex manufacturing environment
  • Exceptional leadership and team development skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Track record of handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines
  • A reputation for having sound judgment with the ability to make timely, and sometimes difficult, decisions
  • Versatility, flexibility, and the willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
