Supervisor, Youth Worker Janitorial Services

Job Summary:

The Youth Worker Supervisor of Janitorial Services oversees cleaning operations at commercial locations designed for administrative staff of BGCGM and recreation locations serving members. The ideal candidate will lead a team of 2 youth worker janitorial staff, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety are consistently maintained. This role requires a strong leader who can manage schedules, train team members, and address any maintenance concerns promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

• Supervise, support, and mentor janitorial staff in daily cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Assign tasks and manage schedules to ensure timely and efficient cleaning.
• Provide ongoing training on cleaning techniques, equipment uses, and safety protocols.

Quality Assurance:

• Inspect facilities regularly to ensure cleaning standards are upheld, especially in high-traffic and child-focused areas.
• Conduct routine checks of play equipment, floors, and restrooms for cleanliness and safety compliance.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor and maintain stock of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate ordering and restocking to avoid shortages.

Problem Solving & Reporting:

• Address maintenance issues, safety hazards, or cleanliness concerns proactively.
• Serve as the point of contact for management regarding cleaning operations.
• Prepare reports on team performance, supplies, and maintenance needs.

Health & Safety Compliance:

• Ensure all cleaning processes follow health and safety regulations, particularly in environments frequented by children.
• Provide guidance on proper handling of cleaning chemicals and protective gear use.

Education Requirements:

• High School Graduate.
• Earn OSHA 10 Certificate

Experience Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be affiliated with Boys & Girls Club programming.
• Must participate in mandatory education and career development programming.

Skills:

• Previous janitorial or cleaning experience preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Cheerful, enthusiastic, responsible, courteous customer service and self-motivated.
• Must be able to perform all tasks in an efficient manner.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Proficiency in maintaining schedules and managing inventory.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a hygienic environment.
