The California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences at UC Berkeley (QB3-Berkeley) is the home for Cal-Cryo. QB3-Berkeley supports research at the interface of the physical, biological, and engineering sciences. It is home to some of the world's leading laboratories in the application of cryo-EM to biological problems, and in the development of new cryo-EM imaging and computational technologies. Cal-Cryo@QB3 is searching for a Scientific Director who will contribute to the cryo-EM research community at UC Berkeley via their independent contributions and by overseeing the Cal-Cryo facility. Responsibilities: 70% Collaborating with UC Berkeley researchers, carrying out collaborative research, acquiring and analyzing data, and preparing results for publication
20% Carrying out independent research on optimizing electron microscopy methodologies and best practices
10% Recruiting, training, supervising, and mentoring additional core facility staff to assist with the above duties Qualifications Basic qualifications
