Job Title: Materials Testing and Development Assistant

Job Purpose:

The Materials Testing and Development Assistant supports the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment. Under direct supervision, this role compiles, analyzes, and reports operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products, processes, or materials.

This exploratory project focuses on testing and analyzing new materials as part of a global initiative, with an emphasis on traceability, documentation, and material characterization.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Data Collection and Organization:

    • Collect and document observations, including photos, videos, and notes during testing.
    • Organize and share test data with the team to facilitate decision-making.


  • Material Testing:

    • Conduct hands-on work, including test setup, running experiments, sample preparation, and product building.
    • Analyze and test materials in an exploratory, non-product-specific environment.


  • Documentation and Housekeeping:

    • Maintain high standards of traceability, organization, and documentation.
    • Ensure a clean and organized work environment in compliance with quality systems.


  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with a small team of less than 10 individuals, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.


  • Quality Compliance:

    • Build quality into all aspects of work by adhering to all compliance and quality requirements.




Qualifications:



  • Experience:

    • 1+ year of relevant experience.
    • Engineering degree is not required but can be advantageous.


  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Strong observation and documentation skills.
    • Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records.
    • Self-sufficient, collaborative, and able to work independently without constant oversight.


  • Preferred Interests:

    • Interest in material characterization and polymer manufacturing methods (preferred but not required).

    • Team size: Less than 10.
    • No travel required for this role.
    • Interviews conducted via video.
