2025 Summer Intern - Validation Engineer

Department Summary

The Validations Department plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance of processes, systems, and equipment used within the organization.Validations Department Key Activities:

  • Process Validation: Confirm that manufacturing processes consistently produce products meeting quality attributes.

  • Equipment Qualification: Verify that equipment (including facilities and utilities) operates correctly and consistently within its specified parameters.

  • Software Validation: Ensure that computer systems and software used in processes do not compromise product quality and integrity.

  • Cleaning Validation: Ensure that cleaning procedures effectively remove residues to prevent cross-contamination.

This internship position is located in Tucson, Arizona, on-site

The Opportunity

  • Assisting with Protocol Development

  • Support in drafting validation protocols such as Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).

  • Conducting Testing and Data Collection:

  • Participate in executing validation and/or qualification protocols and performing necessary tests on equipment and processes.

  • Collect and analyze data to ensure systems meet defined specifications and

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments such as Manufacturing Operations, Process Engineering, Design Transfer Operations, Quality Operations, and Automation Maintenance Support to gather information and ensure validation and qualification requirements are met.

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are (Required)

Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:

- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

Required Majors:

- Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.

  • Any other skills (preferred but not required to have)

  • Meticulous and detail-oriented in conducting validations and documenting findings.

  • Strong ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.

  • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary for this position based on the primary location ofArizona is $45 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
