Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, healthcare, and service, is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in Neurology to serve as Vice Chair of Research, beginning as soon as the position is filled. Appointment at the rank of Professor is preferred, though candidates at the Associate level or those who are Assistant level nearing promotion will be accepted for review.

We seek a full-time researcher with a strong record of research and scholarship in neurology with emphasis on stroke interventional and preventative fields. The faculty member will be expected to develop an independent research program with external grant funding, to lecture in the School of Medicine, to mentor junior faculty, residents, and students, and to support other activities in the Department as needed. A strong publication record and experience as a funded principal investigator is strongly desired. The Vice Chair of Research will be expected to lead our team of stroke researchers, mentor faculty and advise on grant and clinical trial activities within the Department. It is the intent of this position to work with new and existing faculty to increase external research funding and to expand stroke research at Saint Louis University. This position requires a strong background in research and mentorship. Current funded projects representing partial salary support is desired but not required at time of application. Neurology is a vibrant, growing Department at Saint Louis University.
