JOB SUMMARY

Position ensures the prompt and accurate processing of student account payments, daily file uploads from campus bank, including proper posting of lock box, payment identification, returns, deposits, wires, scholarships, federal cash reporting, international payments, and loan cash disbursements. Position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical and research skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of customers. Responsibility requires high level work output, including data storage on an independent basis subject to supervisor direction and review.

Job Duties
  • Monitor and reconcile complex accounting reports of all student payments regardless of source on a daily basis. Accurately maintain custody of cash and checks processed in order to balance and account for all funds at the end of each business day. Prepares daily bank deposit/office deposit.

  • Perform complex cashiering functions for student accounts following specific campus procedures and policies. Must be familiar with campus billing, institutional andFERPAconfidentiality regulations and Federal Title IV cash management regulations.

  • Work with colleague requests regarding canceling or moving payments, or investigation of payment. Maintain an environment of strong internal controls over accuracy, timeliness of recording and securing cash transactions.

  • Communicate with all internal and external customers, students, parents, vendors, colleagues and campus bank. Liaison with international payment vendor and maintains payment portal for 1818 students and parents.

  • Handle difficult customer situations using tact, diplomacy and patience to defuse upset customers. Work with customer for resolution and possible referral to another department.

  • Possess a working knowledge of Excel, Word and Adobe. Acquire working knowledge of multiple campus software systems.

  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work with multiple accounting and student systems.

  • Ability to research payment questions and articulate findings.

  • Ability to perform reporting to federal and third party agencies

  • Ability to work with international payment plans and vendors

  • Ability to operate personal computer and various software programs.

  • Ability to prepare and generate reports.

  • Ability to organize and maintain accurate records and files.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma with one (1) year of related experience.
