Job Title: Caseworker (Criminal Justice)

Location: Dallas, TX 75207

Pay Rate: $30.05/hour on w2 without benefits

Duration: 12 Weeks (3 Months)

Shift hours: M to F 9 am to 5 pm

Job Description:

  • To proactively review and research individuals in the Dallas County Jail to ensure timely criminal case and individual movement throughout the criminal justice system to avoid justice delays and unnecessary cost to the county, while managing public safety.


Objectives:

  • Utilize innovative strategies to address inefficiencies and enhance fairness for individuals in jail.
  • Analyze "who" is in custody and "why" then determine what action is needed for criminal case movement, address missing dispositions, and/or unnecessary holds which prohibit release from jail.
  • Track efforts and initiatives via Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all jail population inquiries and jail population data requests.


Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Business, Public Administration, Accounting, Behavioral Science, or in a job-related field of study.
  • Two (2) years of work-related experience.



Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Skilled in the use of standard software applications (Microsoft Excel required).
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments, and the general public.
  • Must possess a valid Texas: Must pass an extensive background investigation.
  • Candidate must be able to pass background screening and maintain compliance with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS),
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), Information Technology (IT) compliance, and Dallas County Policies and Procedures.
