Department Overview

Power Generation operates and maintains PG&E's hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for our customers. Our nearly 900 coworkers are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective generation to California in an environmentally responsible manner. Our hydro facilities include 62 conventional hydro powerhouses, a pumped-storage facility, 98 reservoirs, 168 dams and morethan 200 miles of canals and flumes, among other water conveyances. Natural gas-fired plants in operation are Humboldt Bay Generating Station in Eureka; Colusa Generating Station in Colusa County and Gateway Generating Station in Antioch. Several utility-scale solar generation plants also are operated and maintained, as well as PG&E's successful entry into battery energy storage, our Elkhorn Battery facility at Moss Landing in Monterey County.

Position Summary

Oversees technical inspections within the hydro generation portfolio. Works with engineering to define inspection parameters, facilitate vendors to execute work, review data captured from vendors, manage accruals and payment to vendors. Maintain working relationships cross functionally. Ensures inspections are completed per company standards, engineering design, regulatory guidelines, and schedule.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $126,000

Bay Area Maximum: $200,000

California Maximum: $190,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Acts as a first point of contact for multiple internal and external clients, and consults with more senior engineers on more difficult issues while ensuring critical needs are met quickly and efficiently.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in area of field and applies extensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Coordinates and leads activities in support of inspections or audits.
  • Ensures all estimates from multiple areas are performed to standards and meet efficiency and accuracy measures within unit costs.
  • Maintains public and employee safety on site at all times by promoting a positive safety culture, exhibiting an absolute commitment to safety for self and others, and by ensuring all applicable safety rules, regulations and standards are followed.
  • Manages daily work activities; reviews and approves priorities and work products.
  • Manages the portfolio of assigned inspections and ensures all inspections are designed safely and completed on time, on budget, on scope, and without adverse environmental or regulatory impacts.
  • Obtains commitment on detailed work plans including schedule, cost, resources, contingency and communication plans.
  • Performs field visits as applicable based on the field condition and/or any issues with the information provided from the field.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Construction or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 7 years
  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent of working time

Desired:

  • Experience in quality control, contracts
  • Experience with project planning tools such as MS-Microsoft Project or Primavera
  • Experience in contract administration, job-related
  • Experience in contract administration
  • Experience in engineering, industrial, or related, 9 years
