We are looking for an eager Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) I to join our MXO SRE team. As an SRE I, you will primarily be responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of Medallia's MXO application running in Azure. Additionally, the job will require additional SRE support for other Medallia applications used by our US Government customers running infrastructure in AWS.

You will work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and product owners to identify and resolve performance issues, automate deployment processes, and optimize system performance. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to learn new concepts quickly and a strong desire to grow in modern deployment and cloud environments. Core technology areas involved are Kubernetes, ArgoCD, virtual networking, terraform, git, python/go/java, jenkins, Postgres, and cloud APIs.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement highly available and scalable infrastructure on Azure/AWS/Private Cloud.
  • Ensure the reliability and availability of our applications and infrastructure by identifying and resolving performance issues.
  • Automate and utilize deployment processes using Git and CI/CD tools.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance and identify areas for optimization.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement and optimize application architecture.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code scripts and templates.
  • Manage virtual networking technologies, including VPNs, VPCs, and load balancers.
  • Continuously improve our systems and processes to increase reliability and efficiency.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24x7 support for production environments.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in AWS infrastructure design and implementation.
  • 1+ years of experience in Python programming.
  • Demonstrated experience with Git and CI/CD tools.
  • Jenkins knowledge/expertise (server management and jobs)
  • Kubernetes/Docker/Container experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of virtual networking technologies, including VPNs, VPCs, and load balancers.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and strong willingness to learn.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Cassandra, Postgres, Redis experience.

Medallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $86,400 - $95,000. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors.
