The Global Corporate Controller is responsible for leading the accounting functions of the company, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the efficient management of financial resources. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, business unit reporting and international operations. The Corporate Controller will work closely with the CFO and senior management to support strategic financial initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the company.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all financial statements and reports, including consolidated audit, as well as business unit statutory and contractually required audits and compilations.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and other applicable financial reporting standards.
- Lead the coordination of annual audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors, including coordination of foreign subsidiaries in N. America and Europe.
Internal Controls and Risk Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the company has appropriate risk management strategies in place.
Accounting Operations:
- Lead the shared services accounting operations of the company.
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
- Ensure the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions and maintain the integrity of the company's financial records.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with the CFO, VP FP&A and department heads to prepare the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against the budget, analyze variances, and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Provide financial leadership in long-term planning and strategic financial initiatives.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Establish goals and objectives for the accounting department, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategy.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration within the finance department and across the organization.
Strategic Financial Support:
- Support the CFO and executive management team in evaluating and executing strategic financial initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, lender reporting, and investment analysis.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and drive organizational performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in relevant field, holds CPA certification.
- Minimum 15 years industry experience, in finance and accounting.
- Strong technical accounting skills and GAAP accounting expertise.
- Has managed a dispersed team throughout the N. America and Europe.
