Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Laboratory Assistant (FGP) - OBS/GYN - IVF.

Under supervision of the Laboratory Supervisors and Lab Director, the candidate will manage specific administrative tasks some non diagnostic laboratory tasks as well as provide patient support services. These tasks require knowledge and understanding of lab procedures and supply inventory. Fertility Care is an intricate field of medicine involving tissue gametes and embryos often ultimately affecting several individuals patient partner resulting children directly. The candidate will interact directly with patients to relay information enter data and provide support on inventory stocking and lab case set up.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for entering and providing data to stakeholders related to specimen processing/testing and other clinical lab activities.

Uses established protocols to locate, translate and upload information into electronic patient records related to all labs at the fertility center.

Works to support embryology lab team, management, patients, cryo inventory team, lab operations, supply and communication tasks; works under general supervision of lab management.

Excellent written and spoken communication skills with ability to interact appropriately with patients, physicians, nursing staff and co-workers.

Demonstrated ability to function as a team player.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or equivalent. Excellent written and spoken communication skills with ability to interact appropriately with patients physicians nursing staff and co workers. Empathy and confidence speaking with patients is a must. Demonstrated ability to function as a team player. Time management skills and high level of organization required. 3 weekdays plus Saturday and Sunday; 35 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree or Associate s degree in a chemical physical biological or medical technology field preferred

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $33,141.95 - $54,203.63 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
