Genesis10 is currently seeking a Windows Middleware Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12 + month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include OS technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities
- Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities
- Assists in establishment of input/output processes and working parameters for hardware compatibility and coordination of subsystems design and integration of total system
- Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource
- Provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor
- Influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations
- Lead end-to-end and administration duties for critical banking platforms, delivering middleware infrastructure for enterprise projects and regulatory initiatives
- Ensure production stability, platform remediation, patching and upgrades, mitigating and managing risk
- Middleware engineering and administration includes middleware installation, configuration, risk mitigation and remediation, performance tuning and troubleshooting/triage as L3 production support
- Collaborate with customers (application teams and/or testing teams) on daily basis providing middleware advice, consultation, and support
- Create, maintain, and support the application deployment templates, serving as a J2EE architect and making recommendations on J2EE best practices in application development
- Design Middleware infrastructure and topology design for high availability and failover capability
- Provide technical consultation to other team members and their supported areas
- Communicate with business partners at an enterprise level;
- Interface with internal customers and external vendors for consultation at various points of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Execute production changes for integrated and regulatory releases with precision
Requirements:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in design and engineering solutions for large business capabilities
- 3 or more years of experience as a Windows Middleware Engineer
- Experience with 1 or more of the following Middleware products: .NET Framework, IIS, Appian, Software AG WEB METHODS
- Linux Operating System, Windows Operating System ava/Container Framework experience
- Experience with one of the following scripting languages: Python, Shell, PowerShell, jython, Perl
- Effective Communication - Clear, Concise and the ability to articulate ideas
- Able to lead and actively participate in conference calls with technical and business users
- Experience in Application Lifecycle Management Automation tools and integration using one or more of the following tools: Ansible by Red Hat, Jenkins or XLR
- Working knowledge/expertise with JIRA, NEXUS and ALM (Application Lifecycle Management)
- Exposure and familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile)
- Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, able to work with little supervision and a responsible team-player
- Working knowledge of application setup, support, and configuration
Desired skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 5+ years of experience of Middleware Engineering experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Experience with 1 or more of the following Middleware products: WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache, Spring Boot, JBoss
- Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL databases
- Linux (RHEL) experience
- Understanding of Network infrastructure (HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS,DNS, Load-balancers, firewalls, proxies, B2B links)
