The Senior Principal Security Architect plays a critical leadership role in shaping and implementing Cox Enterprises' security architecture strategy. This role is central to ensuring robust, scalable, and forward-thinking security solutions across the organization's technology landscape, including cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and hybrid environments. As a visionary leader, you will spearhead efforts to fortify the organization's security posture while fostering innovation and alignment with business objectives.

You will collaborate with executive stakeholders, technology leaders, and cross-functional teams to design and implement security frameworks, establish governance, and drive enterprise-wide standards that safeguard the company's data, systems, and applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Security Strategy Development: Define and lead the security architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and emerging threat landscapes.
  • Governance and Standards: Champion security governance processes, establishing robust standards, policies, and reference architectures.
  • Enterprise Security Solutions: Design, validate, and implement security frameworks for multi-cloud environments, including automation for guardrails and compliance standards.
  • Provide architecture for data protection with solutions that safeguard sensitive information based on best practices (ex. Least privilege).
  • Collaboration and Influence: Partner with solution architects, platform teams, and business stakeholders to embed security into technology roadmaps and architectures.
  • Incident Response and Risk Management: Provide expertise in identifying, analyzing, and addressing security incidents and risks.
  • Innovation and Leadership: Stay ahead of emerging security technologies and trends, applying innovative approaches to enhance the organization's capabilities.
  • Team Development: Mentor and guide team members and partners, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence in security practices.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline and 12 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as master's degree and 10 years' experience; a Ph.D and 7 years' experience in a related field; or 24 years' experience in a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in IT security, architecture, or related fields, with demonstrated leadership in enterprise security strategy.
  • 5+ years of expertise in designing and implementing cloud security (Azure, AWS), hybrid platforms, and DevSecOps practices.
  • 10+ years' experience in the following:
  • Designing and delivering security roadmaps that align capabilities with business objectives
  • Designing or implementing security architecture frameworks (e.g. Zero Trust, Defense in Depth)
  • Defining security standards, controls, and best practices
  • Data privacy, classification and supporting standards and controls
  • Ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, and ISO 27001
  • Security technologies, including identity and access management (IAM) encryption, intrusion detection systems, endpoint security, SIEM
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance capabilities (GRC)
  • Physical and enterprise security capabilities (security cameras, facilities access platforms, BCP/DR)
  • Designing, developing and implementing scalable, secure architectures for enterprise applications and infrastructure.
  • Developing and maintaining security blueprints for both portfolio and information security solutions


Preferred:

  • 15+ years of related experience with a Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with security frameworks such as NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, or SABSA.
  • Expertise in AI/ML-driven security models and analytics.


USD 192,800.00 - 321,400.00

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $192,800.00 - $321,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
