Provides guidance and consultation when needed, regarding effective patient care and scope of practice. Creates formal and informal learning opportunities for peers regarding practice issues, technology and/or current research, identifies and intervenes when staff weaknesses are identified. The Registered Nurse Preceptor is responsible for the oversight of the preceptee in the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He/She communicates with the physician, nurse director, coworkers about changes in the patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality. Works collaboratively with patients, patients' family, significant other(s) and hospital staff to achieve goals and outcomes. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state Registered Nurse license. Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below): 1. In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $41.57 to $57.07. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
