Position Summary The Assistant Dean of Strategic Marketing and Communications develops and executes the marketing and communication strategy for the Tyler School of Art and Architecture in coordination with the Dean. The role provides leadership and creativity in the research, planning, implementation, and evaluation of internal and external communications across all platforms and media. In alignment with the university's communication goals, the Assistant Dean supports Tyler's student recruitment efforts, alumni relations, development and fundraising and public programs.

Required Education and Experience * Bachelor's degree * At least five (5) years of directly related communications experience. * An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities * Demonstrated experience developing and implementing successful strategic communications plans * Ability to generate and maintain a creative vision from project conception through completion * Strong leadership and management skills * Strong public speaking and presentation skills * Demonstrated proficiency in visual communications * Demonstrated experience with development of print materials * Demonstrated understanding of web communications * Ability to use data to strategically to plan and assess communication initiatives * Excellent organization and verbal/written/visual communications skills * Detail oriented with a proven ability to multi-task, adhere to deadlines and respond quickly when necessary * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work and collaborate with varied constituencies Essential Functions * Cultivate productive relationships with local, national, and international media outlets, both general and field specific. * Work closely with the Tyler and Temple Enrollment Management offices to generate and disseminate compelling content to attract prospective students to Tyler. * Collaborate with the Assistant Dean for Development and Alumni Relations on materials used to enhance fundraising, donor cultivation, and alumni relations. * Research, plan, develop, implement, evaluate, and continually improve a strategic communications plan that enhances the school's reputation and promotes an inspiring and consistent image of the school's programs and achievements. * Effectively tailor messaging and communication strategies for specific constituencies. * Enforce design and branding guidelines. * Develop and write executive communications as needed for the Dean. * Develop and strengthen internal communications within Tyler, including tools to increase faculty, staff, and student awareness, engagement, and sense of community. * Oversee day-to-day activities of the communications function. * Develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures necessary for the smooth operation of the communications/marketing function. * Set goals and track, measure, and assess effectiveness of all communications campaigns. * Develop and oversee the concept and vision for creative projects, such as advertising campaigns, marketing initiatives and video content productions to promote Tyler.
