The Systems Admin, Network is responsible for managing network devices, handling circuit-related tasks, monitoring network health, and ensuring incident and problem management. Involves configuring and maintaining routers, switches, and access points, as well as managing various tools and responding to network alerts and tickets.
JOB FUNCTIONS: * Configures tasks, backups, compliance, and troubleshooting for all routers, switches, access points, and other network devices as required. * Oversees circuit capacity and utilization review on an ongoing basis. * Orders and cancels circuits as needed. * Manages outages by taking ownership of issue resolution including collaborating with service providers as necessary to resolve the issue within service levels. * Configures tools to ensure they are properly monitoring all necessary parameters on an ongoing basis. * Utilizes available tools to monitor availability and performance on network devices and circuits, configures WAN and LAN devices, evaluates traffic utilization, and maintains location information. * Responds to health alerts and outages in a timely manner to resolve issues within service levels ensuring minimal impact to business. * Ensures all issues, both organic and escalated, are addressed within service levels. * Manages both team and personal ticket queues in the ticketing system to ensure timely resolution and updates. * Communicates clearly and concisely with internal and external parties regarding issues and resolutions. * Creates and updates knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, and architecture diagrams. * Identifies repetitive issues, analyzes root cause, provides solutions or workarounds, implements preventative measures, and updates monitoring and actions taken. * Audits wireless usage daily to prevent overages. * Conducts circuit cost reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensures disconnected circuits are not billed. * Occasional travel may be required. * Performs other duties as assigned * Complies with all policies and standards | |
