User Experience: Usability Specialist

The Usability Specialist serves as a UX expert, focusing on all areas of healthcare IT usability.

As a member of the eCW Usability team, you will be responsible for designing impeccable user experiences and conducting user research to elicit challenges and validate solutions. The Specialist is responsible for contributing to all aspects of the user experience process, with project opportunities ranging from research (e.g., planning, recruiting, moderating, analyzing) to design (e.g., ideating, wireframing, revising, prototyping). You will be contributing your skillset and expertise to the established team's, working together to discover actionable user insights and ground your design decisions in what is best for our end users.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):



  • Participating in a variety of User Experience projects as part of a team.
  • Consulting with Product and Engineering stakeholders to implement your UX-based enhancement and improvements.
  • Speaking directly with users to elicit feedback, challenges, needs, and concept validation.
  • Promoting user-centered design principles and best practices across the organization.
  • Working with data to justify your conclusions.
  • Periodically traveling to user-sites to observe and learn, then sharing those findings with the team and organization



Requirements and qualifications



  • BA/BS degree in Engineering Psychology, Human Factors, User Centered Design, User Experience, or a related field.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience executing a variety of UX tasks (e.g., research, design, or a combination thereof)
  • A passion for putting the user first, using data (qualitative and/or quantitative) to justify your decisions from a user-centered perspective
  • In-depth understanding of human factors, and user-centered design processes
  • Healthcare experience is preferred, but not required
