Summary:

The Senior Brand Manager for EXPAREL will take a lead role in shaping the marketing strategy and driving the growth of the EXPAREL brand across diverse therapeutic areas. This position requires a strategic and results-driven individual who can take ownership of brand initiatives, lead cross-functional collaboration, and influence the direction of key marketing activities. The Senior Brand Manager will work closely with leadership to optimize brand performance, enhance market share, and ensure the brand's presence aligns with Pacira's broader business objectives.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Brand Strategy Development & Execution:

o Lead the development and execution of the EXPAREL brand strategy, including long-term positioning, customer engagement plans, and promotional campaigns.
o Work alongside senior leadership to refine and adjust the brand's strategic direction based on market insights and business goals.
o Drive tactical execution of key brand initiatives, ensuring they align with Pacira's overall business objectives and market demands.

2. Cross-functional Leadership & Collaboration:
o Lead collaboration with internal teams (sales, medical affairs, regulatory, commercial) to align brand goals and initiatives across the organization.
o Coordinate the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies, ensuring all activities are aligned and contribute to the brand's growth.

3. Market Research & Competitive Intelligence:
o Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities, refine strategies, and optimize brand positioning.
o Utilize data-driven insights to track brand performance and adjust marketing tactics to maximize growth and market share.

4. Brand Stewardship & Communication:
o Oversee the creation and delivery of high-quality, impactful marketing materials, including sales tools, promotional content, and educational resources for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
o Ensure consistent and compelling communication of the EXPAREL brand across all channels to support engagement with healthcare providers, patients, and internal teams.

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy:
o Cultivate and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and external partners to amplify the brand's presence and support market leadership.
o Represent EXPAREL and Pacira at industry events, conferences, and in meetings with KOLs to drive brand advocacy and ensure alignment with market needs.

6. Resource Management & Budget Oversight:
o Take ownership of marketing budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation for the EXPAREL brand, ensuring effective distribution of resources to achieve brand objectives.
o Optimize the marketing mix and adjust resource distribution to maximize return on investment and support both short-term and long-term business goals.

7. Leadership & Team Mentorship:
o Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven culture.
o Provide strategic direction to team members, support their professional growth, and ensure alignment with Pacira's organizational values.

8. Commercial Execution & Performance Tracking:
o Oversee the execution of marketing initiatives, from concept through to market launch, ensuring the development of tools and resources that effectively support sales teams and drive customer engagement.
o Regularly monitor brand performance, track KPIs, and adjust strategies as needed to drive brand growth and increase market share.

9. Brand Health & Optimization:
o Continuously evaluate brand health, identify key trends, and adjust the brand strategy based on performance metrics and market dynamics.
o Lead efforts to enhance the brand's lifecycle management, including potential line extensions or new market segments.

Interaction:
Will work closely with employees in all other functional areas and directly with the commercial team.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

* A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is required; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
* 5+ years of experience in brand management or marketing, with a proven track record of successfully leading brand strategies in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or medical device sectors.
* Strong experience in cross-functional team leadership and the ability to drive brand growth across complex, competitive markets.

* Exceptional strategic and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to craft and execute long-term strategies while adjusting quickly to market changes.
* Strong experience with data analysis, using insights to inform decision-making and optimize marketing strategies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas effectively to senior leadership, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
* Proven success working with KOLs and other external partners to advance brand objectives and strengthen brand advocacy.

Travel Requirements

* ~35% Anticipated travel primarily to attend society education meetings, field meetings with KOLs and/or conducting field research and advisory boards

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this role in San Francisco, California is $132,000 per year to $181,000 per year. The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
