Compensation Range:20.00 hourly

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.

Job Purpose

As a Sales Intern, you will be an integral part of our sales team, contributing to the growth and success of our company. This position is designed for competitive individuals who seek a comprehensive understanding of the sales cycle within the motive power industry. You will gain hands-on experience in customer engagement, lead generation, and closing deals, all while being supported and empowered by our experienced sales professionals. At EnerSys we pride ourselves as being the market leader in the Motive Power industry while delivering a suite of product offerings that empowers our sales team to make a difference in their customers' operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Cycle Training & Execution:

  • Participate in a structured 10-to-12-week training plan designed to replicate a B2B sales cycle, including stages such as prospecting, qualifying leads, and closing deals.
  • Engage in hands-on activities like CRM updates, lead generation, and account management.

Prospecting & Lead Management:

  • Conduct prospecting activities such as cold calling, email outreach, and social media engagement to identify potential customers.
  • Qualify leads by assessing their needs, budget, and decision-making process.

Business Development Representative:

  • Serve as a Business Development Representative (BDR), focusing on identifying and nurturing opportunities within target markets.
  • Assist in the development of new business by researching potential accounts, qualifying leads, and coordinating with the sales team to advance opportunities.

Sales Learning & Skill Development:

  • Attend weekly sales training sessions, team meetings, and product demos to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in book club discussions and apply key concepts to improve sales effectiveness.

Client Engagement:

  • Schedule and attend client meetings, both virtually and in-person, to build relationships and present solutions.
  • Perform industry and competitor research to support sales strategies.

Feedback & Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in 1-on-1 sessions with mentors and guest speakers to gain insights and refine skills.
  • Incorporate feedback from weekly reviews and sales KPIs into work processes.

Professional Development:

  • Complete the DISC personality assessment and apply findings to develop a personal sales style.
  • Build a professional brand through activities such as resume workshops and sales etiquette training.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a sales, business, marketing, or related field.
  • Strong interest in the energy, industrial, supply chain, and logistics industries.
  • Competitive, with a drive to learn and excel in a sales environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with remote work and utilizing digital communication tools.
  • Previous sales or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong academic record

  • This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
